Sounds great mon! Nice and nasty but earthy at the same time.
I got it crankin' in the studio!

Thanks Poly! :-)

I grunged up the bass after the fact using Free Amp to make it sit with
the guitar better. It was originally just a slight overdrive, which
sounded hospital clean next to the distortion guitar.

The guitar is the new Strat, with no whammy bar usage this time.

What notes *exactly* were you playing between 1:24 - 1:29? Maybe you
sped Reaper up? If you cheated I don't want to hear about it.

I am only joking and I know what you were playing. <VBG>

I take it your new Strat is still giving you some fun with or without
your whammy.

Remember this? Anyway, it just came to my mind when I wrote whammy.

I'm on the G string, 19th fret, then 17th fret, then 16th fret for a
moment, then same frets on th D string. All picked with a Fender heavy pick
and played in real time. I thought it was kind of sloppy, but it was the
best I could pull off, and I couldn't keep going that fast any longer.

Oh, I should have read ahead. I'm glad that you know what I played, coz I
don't. I'd have to go note at a time or use my tuner to tell you what notes
were in that section.

Absolutely! I didn't even realize that I had omitted using the whammy bar
until I was mixing it, when I thought, some of the long sustainy notes
could have had a little more character if I had used it sparingly.

I didn't remember that one coz I heard it for the first time just now.

That's some pretty good harp playing!

That would be Magic Dick from the J. Geils Band and J. Geils is no
longer a member of *his* band. <Giggle>

An old drummer of mine was a decent harmonica player and we would always
rehearse this song like we were going to play it live because that is
what rehearsals are far, right?

He always chickened out playing it live though.

I once played a bluesy harmonica part on one of my songs, with the only
harmonica I have, which is a Honer Marine Band in the key of C, but the
song was in some other key, and it sounded like crap when I recorded it,
but I played as if it were in the correct key knowing that I would use a
pitch transposer on it after the fact and get it into the right key.

I sounded great after I pitched it up to the key of the song, and some
people commented on my harmonica playing. I chuckled to myself thinking, if
they only could have heard it when I was recording it. <g>
