The Robot Song

Found this one last night and remastered it with some new tools.

I used the "Jammer Hit Session" program that came with Cakewalk Pro
Audio, entering my own chord progression, and then adding my digital
drums and writing and singing the vocals. The lyrics were a jab at some
guys in a band I played in for a brief while, who decided that they
didn't like my digital drums and then replaced me with a lame drummer who
had a "regular" kit and who they could dictate all the drum parts to.

I call it "The Robot Song" at:

http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=13357180

Lyrics:
==============================================================
This is the chord progression, I made up today
And then I let the Jammer program have it

So I guess you could say, in some kind of way
That maybe I had something to do with the writing of this tune
But then again, maybe not

There ain't no ego trips to spoil this digital band
And all you technophobes can go hide your heads in the sand

If you're seeking fame and fortune and it is your motivation
Then you prolly ought to think about another occupation
Coz you're never gonna write a good song
Or so I've heard

Maybe you think, something unique's gonna drop at your feet
And have a good beat, and then you'll be a star
I give it a seven coz you can dance to it

When you see me on the teevee then you all can say that we used to hang
with guy
And at the time, he was the drummer in our little band
But he had an attitude about his digital drums
And he would let us tell him how to play on the songs
So we got us another guy that we could control

There ain't no ego trips to spoil this digital band
And all you technophobes can go hide your heads in the sand

LOL!!! Too funny. Yeah I remember playing with Jammer for a couple of
days for a couple of hours. <g> I think the only alternative was BIAB
which had the ugliest GUI of all software programs ever. Never tried
that one though. Just looked at it on their website once or twice with
some guy demoing it. Butt ugly.

All I remember about "Jammer" was you gave it a progression, and a style,
and it generated midi files that you could then pick your own sounds to
play. Seems like you had to type them in or something, and I had no idea
what I was doing, since I don't even know the names of the chords in the
songs I'm playing the instruments on. I think I just tried stuff until I
liked what it was creating for me.
